Union Rome Wastewater Treatment Plant Replacement
The Lawrence County Board of Commissioners commissioned the design of a new 2.0 MGD WWTP utilizing Membrane Bioreactor technology due to the need for additional capacity the need to improve water quality to meet more stringent NPDES limits on the Ohio River.
This project is one the first ten MBR plants under design in Ohio and the first along the Ohio River from Pittsburgh to the Mississippi River. The project involves a complete redevelopment of the wet stream process and solids handling and will be the first Membrane thickening treatment facility utilizing expansion cells for future growth.
